What can I expect during a lactation consultation? During a virtual visit you can expect to have a one-on-one conversation with a qualified lactation expert who will listen to your concerns, answer questions and offer personalized advice. You may also receive practical tips and techniques to address any feeding or breast health challenges.
Can I use new parent services if I’m not breastfeeding but have concerns about my breast health? Yes! These services are not exclusively for breastfeeding support. If you have concerns about your breast health such as engorgement, weaning, breast pain, or other issues, our lactation experts are here to help provide guidance and support.
How can I prepare for my visit? Preparing for a lactation consultation is simple–make a list of any questions or concerns you have, and make sure you have a quiet, comfortable, private place to have your virtual visit. Having details about your breastfeeding habits, past experiences, or health history can be helpful too.
Is lactation consultation confidential? Yes–your privacy and confidentiality are of the utmost importance. All discussions during your virtual visit are entirely confidential. We’re here to support you and provide the guidance you need in a secure environment.

Am I eligible?
There are only two requirements for registration:
1. Adults 18+ can sign up (dependents ages 2-17 can be added to your account)
2. Must have a CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield health plan, including CareFirst Medicare Advantage and CareFirst Community Health Plan Maryland (some exclusions apply)
